Seminar und Filmvorführung "Wannsee-Konferenz"
As part of the seminar, Matti Geschonneck's film "Wannsee Conference" was shown, which describes the meeting of the leading representatives of the Nazi regime on January 20th, 1942 in a villa in the suburbs of Berlin on Lake Wann. The script was derived from the meeting protocol compiled by Adolf Eichmann. The topic was the "final solution of the Jewish question" - the organization of the systematic mass killing of millions of Jews in Europe. The implementation of the Holocaust, i.e. the complete extermination of the Jews from Europe, the infamous "Endlösung", was agreed at the conference. The film received numerous awards, including two German television awards (Deutscher Fernsehpreis) for best TV film and screenplay. It also won the prestigious Prix Europa award for the best European motion picture. After the movie, a presentation by the professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, Tvrtko Jakovina, PhD. and film historian Daniel Rafaelić followed together with a discussion with the audience.
