National Security Summit

Internal Security as Priority for the New Government

Heads of the Nigerian security agencies come together to analyse the internal security situation at the beginning of the new legislative period.

Nigeria has at least three chronic trouble spots with constant outbreaks of violence: The Niger Delta, Jos in the Middle Belt, and the North-East with Boko Haram.

Therefore, internal security ought to be one of the most important topics for the new government of President Goodluck Jonathan in order to be successful. The security situation and its implications for the cooperation among various security agencies (military, police, civil corps, immigration services, and others) will be discussed by the heads of these agencies, and recommendations will be made.

This event will be organized in cooperation with IMPACT and NACOL.
