About this series
Political Thought is a publication series that has existed since 2002 and was initiated by the office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in North Macedonia (KAS), together with the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis”–Skopje. The aim of the series is to promote and strengthen academic and societal discourse on key political processes in North Macedonia and the wider region. Since its first issue, Political Thought has established itself as an important forum for democratic values, tolerance, and political and social dialogue.
Since 2004, the series has been published bilingually in Macedonian and English, addressing a broad national as well as international audience. Today, Political Thought is published twice a year and is supported by an internationally composed editorial advisory board that ensures the quality of the content and the thematic development of the publication. In terms of content, the series does not focus solely on classical political issues, but also addresses key societal challenges, including questions of economic development, current security challenges, energy efficiency, as well as environmental and climate protection. Through this interdisciplinary approach, Political Thought makes an important contribution to the in‑depth analysis of political processes and to the promotion of an informed public discourse at the national, regional, and European levels.
