Event reports
BYN in cooperation with the Palestinian Domestic Organization for Development and Charity in Gaza organized this workshop in which more than 100 young people from different youth organizations participated.
During the workshop, the groups presented and explained their project ideas. One of the project ideas aims at forming a strong unified body of different student councils. Through such a student’s forum, decision makers and national authorities in the Palestinian Autonomous Territories can be reached and influenced. The creation of an E-Library was another project proposal. In addition, an E-archive of all the tourist sites in Palestine should be created. Furthermore, the project aims to document the autobiographies and work of famous Palestinian writers, poets and artists.
One of the highlights of the workshop was a video conference with Gaza. Both the BYN members and the members of the partner organization in Gaza presented their activities, projects as well as their experiences in the Palestinian civil society. In the following, the training courses in Ramallah and Gaza took place.
The Baader Youth Network is a joint initiative of the International Peace and Cooperation center (IPCC), Jerusalem, and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Ramallah. The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of youth in the Palestinian society and in the political arena, to support future leaders as well as to cut back gender barriers. In this way, KAS and its partner support the build-up of a pluralistic, democratic and viable civil society in the Palestinian Autonomous Territories. The project is funded by the German Foreign Office within the framework of the program “Empowering Democracy”.
