KAS Policy Forum: Protecting Lives and Controlling Migration

Date: 28 March 2017, 17.00h - 19.00h

Venue: Hilton Malta, Vjal Portomaso, St Julian's PTM 01, Malta

The challenges posed by uncontrolled migration have emerged as decisive topic in Europe over the last years and have stimulated important debates on how the European Union can and should react to these challenges. The answers to these questions however remain disputed and continue to divide EU member states. The topic of migration thus presents a crucial issue for the future direction of the EU and is even being described as test case for its cohesion.

With the “KAS Policy Forum: Protecting Lives and Controlling Migration” the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung therefore aims to contribute to this timely debate within the EPP and beyond on the need for a common European approach to react to migration flows in the Mediterranean region.
