Libya's Path to Elections: Local Expectations for the Months Ahead
Libya Expert Dialogue
The New York Office to the United Nations and the Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung are hosting a new invitation-only Libya Expert Dialogue.
With the recent announcement of the Transitional Government of National Unity (GNU), Libya is heading towards elections on December 24, 2021. Although many unanswered questions regarding the management of an electoral process in Libya remain, the momentum for elections appears to be strong. Libyans are anxious to select their legitimate representatives to move one step closer to a stable and prosperous Libya. With these promising developments, the New York Office to the United Nations and the Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) continue their Libya Expert Dialogue. In our next session a member of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LDPF), representatives from academia, the private sector, civil society, as well as a tribal authority and youth leader will articulate their concerns, priorities and expectations of the transitional government.
