From 7-9 May 2017, 35 young women and men, representing youth organizations from 24 countries of the northern and southern Mediterranean basin met in Barcelona under the theme “Bridging Youth Across the Mediterranean”, in an event jointly organized by the KAS Regional Program South Mediterranean and the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). The participants discussed subjects of common interest such as youth participation, youth policies, risks and opportunities of new forms of communication and, based on the discussions, explored how to build on these exchanges for future activities. A joint declaration serves as basis for the creation of a Euro-Mediterranean youth network.
