The aim of the programme is to offer the participants insights into the concepts of the German energy transition and its various implementation strategies at local, national and European level, so that they can bring these findings back into the discussion on energy and climate policy in their home countries.
The ambitious goal of the German energy transition is followed with interest in Asia. The new and fast-growing metropolitan areas in Asia have to speed up their transformation towards a sustainable energy and climate policy development. Many local projects in urban development in Germany can serve as examples for Asia. Also, at national and European level, issues of regional integration of energy markets and the EU's role as a global actor in climate change and energy security will be addressed as a challenge for politics and business - and to provide Asian political and economic decision makers with new perspectives.
