The main purpose of the workshop was to present to the law makers and legal profession of Bhutan how judges in Germany are held accountable for their decision-making as well as the task and duties of the German Federal Bar. Other concerns were addressed such as the presence of any guidelines on Conflict of Interest in the courts and the lawyer’s code of professional responsibility. The workshop was presided over by the Chief Justice of Bhutan, Hon. Tshering Wangchuck and presentations were made by Monika Noehre, President, Supreme Court, Berlin and Marc Spitzkatz, Director, Rule of Law Programme Asia, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
