The task field of intelligence and security services is constantly evolving with the threat scenarios against democracy. The renowned Romanian Economic University ASE (https://www.ase.ro/), together with the National Intelligence Academy "Mihai Viteazul" (https://www.animv.ro/), has established a course "Master of Business Intelligence" (https://intell.fabiz.ase.ro/) in order to promote targeted further education in the intersection of economic and intelligence skills. In addition to classic fields such as "National Intelligence Systems", "Competitive & Strategic Intelligence", "Collection, Reporting & Communication of Intelligence", the emphasis in the course is particularly on the areas of "Economic War Theory", "Business Forensics", "Data Mining & Big Data", "Cyber Security & Cyber Intelligence", "Social Network Analysis", "Money Laundering & Fraud Prevention", but also "Ethics and Academic Integrity". As part of a study trip to Berlin integrated into the Master's program, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation is committed to broadening the students' discussion horizons to include German experiences. In particular, we are focusing on how intelligence and security activities can be tied back to democracy while fully respecting the principles of the rule of law.
