Details

On Tuesday 5 April, an international donor conference will be held in Berlin to help the Republic of Moldova cope with the refugee movement triggered by the Ukraine war. The small Republic of Moldova, with its population of only 2.6 million and the lowest gross domestic product per capita of all European countries, took in more than 330,000 refugees from the neighbouring country in a very short time. Although many travelled on, around 110,000 are being cared for permanently in the Republic of Moldova - including around 48,000 children and young people. Germany, together with France and Romania, is now organising a donor conference in Berlin to discuss comprehensive international aid for the Republic of Moldova.
