The general elections in South Africa took place on May 29, 2024, to constitute a new National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the seventh elections held since the end of the apartheid regime in 1994. The South African Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) recorded 27.7 million registered voters, representing 67 percent of South Africans who were eligible to vote.
