Details

In recent years there has been an increase in xenophobic attacks with locals blaming foreigners for the high crime rate and stealing their jobs. It is estimated that there are 2 million foreigners living in South Africa, majority of who are Africans. The dialogue will discuss xenophobia and its violation of human rights. It will further discuss the high cost of tertiary education; participants will give practical examples of how this has affected them and they will also debate possible ways through which the state can assist with funding.
