Xenophobia and South Africa

Roundtable Series 2019: Number 4 - Centre for Unity in Diversity

Join us for the fourth discussion for 2019 on November 14, hosted by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and the Centre for Unity in Diversity (CUD).

The South African Constitution obliges the State to protect the rights of all who live in the country.

The Roundtable Discussion will unpack the recurring waves of xenophobic violence in the country, the South African government’s response to it and gaps in policing.

The discussion will also seek to find methods to effectively address the attitudes and perceptions towards foreign nationals who have made their livelihoods and homes in South Africa for various reasons.
