Details
Foundation for African Development (FAD) is an indigenous non-governmental organisation which was established in 1979. FAD with the support of KAS undertakes civic education as a way of contributing towards the promotion of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Uganda.
FAD has developed a training programme targeting elected representatives at the District Level from the six parliamentary political parties in Uganda. The parties are: Conservative Party (CP), Democratic Party (DP), Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Justice Forum (JEEMA), National Resistance Movement (NRM), and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC).
The overall objective of the training programme is to improve the methods of communication within political parties and ethical standards to promote openness, accountability and accessibility.
