Details

The theme of the conference is: "Oil Production in a Social Market Economy - Perspectives for Uganda". The key presentation shall be made by the Director of the Norwegian Oil for Development Programme, Mr. Petter Nore, and will be discussed by Senior Presidential Advisor on the Economy, Dr Ezra Suruma.

The conference will be opened by the Country Representative of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Uganda, Dr. Angelika Klein and closed by the Minister for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde. Opening remarks will be given by the President of UNCCI, Mrs. Olive Z. Kigongo.

During the conference there will be a panel discussion with distinguished experts including the Minister of State for Finance/General Duties, Hon Fred Omach Jacan, Hon. Elly Karuhanga and Dickens Kamugisha from the African Institute for Energy Governance (AFIEGO).

The event will be moderated by NTV News Anchor Patrick Kamara and will bring together 200 participants from government, private sector, academia and civil society. It is expected that the conference will come with some concise recommendations to foster good development of the oil resource in Uganda.
