9th Interreligious Dialogue Colloquium: Religion and Disinformation

Religious leaders, experts and institutional representatives from four West African countries discussed the challenges posed by disinformation in the digital age.

The 9th edition of the Interreligious Dialogue Colloquium explored the role of religious actors in countering disinformation and promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

Enforced Disappearances: Panel and Capacity-Building Workshop in Abidjan

On the occasion of the 139th session of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, KAS co-organized two events in Abidjan.

Discussions focused on obstacles to accessing justice, the role of public institutions and civil society actors, as well as mechanisms for the prevention and reporting of enforced disappearances.

WYDE Political Parties

Clap de fin pour les remises de certificats WYDE Political Parties. Ces dernières semaines, la Fondation Konrad Adenauer (KAS), avec le soutien de l’Union européenne (UE) et en coordination avec l’ENoP, a célébré la réussite de plusieurs dizaines de jeunes et de femmes engagés dans la vie politique en Côte d’Ivoire. Nous avons été à Man le 26 juillet, Bouaké le 28 juillet et Abidjan le 02 septembre pour la remise des certificats et la clôture du programme de formation. Ces cérémonies marquent la fin d’un parcours de formation dédié à renforcer la participation des jeunes et des femmes dans les partis politiques, à travers des ateliers pratiques sur la gouvernance démocratique, le dialogue multipartite, la communication et le plaidoyer, ainsi que la transparence et la responsabilité politique. Ces moments forts témoignent d’un engagement collectif pour une démocratie plus inclusive et participative en Côte d’Ivoire. Un grand merci à tous nos partenaires, aux autorités locales et surtout aux participants, véritables acteurs du changement.

30 Beninese participants from different parts of the country. This meeting was part of a program to strengthen civic capacities.

Regional Economic Forum 2025

From July 2 to 3, 2025, the Forum Économique Côte d’Ivoire 2025 took place at the Novotel Marcory in Abidjan.

Around 50 participants from Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Togo came together at the invitation of the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue West Africa.

Civic and political education for women in Côte d'Ivoire / WYDE Political Parties

45 women leaders trained in political leadership in Abidjan and Bouaké as part of the WYDE project - Women and Youth in Democracy

As part of the WYDE - Women and Youth in Democracy project, funded by the European Union and coordinated by the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), two sessions of the Civic and Political Education Program were organized in Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen the leadership skills of women involved in political life. The training sessions were held from May 6 to 8 in Abidjan, then from May 21 to 23 in Bouaké.

Education Civique et politique des jeunes en Côte d'Ivoire / WYDE Political Parties

As part of a five-month development programme, 73 young leaders participated in a series of workshops combining online learning with in-person sessions.

The first phase took place online from March 3 to 14, 2024. During this period, participants explored the fundamentals of democratic systems. In April, the second phase took place through in-person workshops held in Abidjan, Bouaké, and Man. The training is part of the WYDE Political Parties project, which is funded by the EU and led by the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP).

8th edition of the Colloquium on Interreligious Dialogue

After seven successful editions since 2017, the eighth edition of the Colloquium on Interreligious Dialogue took place on February 25 and 26, 2025.

The event was held simultaneously in the French-speaking countries of the Regional Program for Political Dialogue in West Africa (PDWA): Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Togo, and Guinea. The PDWA Regional Program once again organized the event to strengthen democracy and promote peace. This year, the focus was on examining the complex relationship between religion and politics, particularly in times of societal fragility and uncertainty.
