Civic and political education for women in Côte d'Ivoire / WYDE Political Parties

45 women leaders trained in political leadership in Abidjan and Bouaké as part of the WYDE project - Women and Youth in Democracy

As part of the WYDE - Women and Youth in Democracy project, funded by the European Union and coordinated by the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), two sessions of the Civic and Political Education Program were organized in Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen the leadership skills of women involved in political life. The training sessions were held from May 6 to 8 in Abidjan, then from May 21 to 23 in Bouaké.

As part of a five-month development programme, 73 young leaders participated in a series of workshops combining online learning with in-person sessions.

The first phase took place online from March 3 to 14, 2024. During this period, participants explored the fundamentals of democratic systems. In April, the second phase took place through in-person workshops held in Abidjan, Bouaké, and Man. The training is part of the WYDE Political Parties project, which is funded by the EU and led by the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP).

8th edition of the Colloquium on Interreligious Dialogue

After seven successful editions since 2017, the eighth edition of the Colloquium on Interreligious Dialogue took place on February 25 and 26, 2025.

The event was held simultaneously in the French-speaking countries of the Regional Program for Political Dialogue in West Africa (PDWA): Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Togo, and Guinea. The PDWA Regional Program once again organized the event to strengthen democracy and promote peace. This year, the focus was on examining the complex relationship between religion and politics, particularly in times of societal fragility and uncertainty.

Stakeholder Meetings 2025

The regional program Political Dialogue West Africa has started the new year 2025 with its traditional Stakeholder Meetings in Abidjan, Lomé, Cotonou and Conakry.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung met with its partners in each of the French-speaking countries covered by its regional programme Political Dialogue West Africa. As part of its traditional New Year’s activity and the presentation of best wishes to its partners, known as the Stakeholder Meeting, regional programme PDWA started its activities for 2025 in the West African countries where it operates. These included Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Guinea, and Togo. Through a series of regional meetings, the foundation visited each of these countries to meet with its local partners. This provided an opportunity to reflect on the collaboration in 2024 and discuss the challenges and perspectives for 2025.

Official Book Presentation: “Perspectives on the New Financial Logic in Côte d’Ivoire”

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the KAS Regional Programme PDWA, in partnership with APDH, hosted an official book presentation at Novotel Marcory.

The title of the book is the following: “Perspectives on the New Financial Logic in Côte d’Ivoire”. The event brought together experts, representatives from public and private institutions, and civil society actors.

2024 Edition of the IAJP Annual Symposium in Benin

The topic was : "Good Governance and the Fight Against Terrorism: The Responsibility of National Actors.".

The 2024 edition of the Annual Symposium of our partner IAJP was held in Cotonou, focusing on the main theme: "Good Governance and the Fight Against Terrorism: The Responsibility of National Actors.".

30 young people were trained in Abidjan

From October 22 to 24, 2024, the KAS PDWA hosted an in-person workshop in Abidjan, marking the conclusion of a one-month online training program focused on civic education.
