From the 28th to the 30th July 2020, the Regional Programme Political Dialogue West Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in cooperation with the Youth Council of the District of Abidjan (COJEDA) organised a "Political Academy" in Grand-Bassam on the topic "Proposals for improving the situation of young people in Côte d'Ivoire".

COVID-19 Strategic Orientations based on case studies in Guinea, Benin and Togo

This quantitative research is based on a sample of 1500 residents of Benin, Togo and Guinea, who expressed their reactions, fears and needs in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. This report is published as a contribution to the combined efforts of governments and civil society in Benin, Togo and Guinea in the fight against COVID-19. We hope that the data presented and the analysis will be used to guide existing initiatives and encourage new ones, as well as to foster public-private partnerships to respond to the spread of the coronavirus in Benin, Togo, Guinea and beyond.

Interreligious Dialogue 2020

The third edition of the Interreligious Dialogue was held from 18 to 19 February 2020 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

The dialogue - a joint initiative of the « Centre de Recherche Politique d’Abidjan » (CRPA), the Embassy of Israel and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) - brought together more than 150 participants. Rabbi Akiva Zyzek, as a French-speaking teacher from the 'Oz Lé-Israel' community, represented the perspective of Judaism during the conference. In addition, among the guests were representatives of the Catholic, Protestant and Free Churches and of Muslim communities from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea.

Annual conference of KAS scholarship holders in West Africa

2019 edition in Lomé, Togo

The 2019 edition of the annual scholarship holders’ conference of the Regional Programme “Political Dialogue West Africa” (PDWA) of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) took place in Lomé, Togo, between the 3rd and 6th of December 2019. KAS invited 24 scholarship recipients (from the cohorts 2017, 2018 and 2019) as well as seven former scholarship recipients from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Niger and Togo.

On 17th October 2019 the Regional Programme Political Dialogue West Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organised a "Political Academy" on the theme "The situation of Ivorian youth in view of the 2020 election: challenges and prospects" in partnership with the "Conseil des Jeunes du District d’Abidjan" (COJEDA).

Erste überregionale Konferenz zum Projekt „Eine Welt ohne Hunger“ in Togo

Vom 29. Oktober bis zum 01. November 2019 kamen in Lomé, Togo, Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter aus zehn Auslandsbüros zusammen, die sich im Rahmen der Sonderinitiative „Eine Welt ohne Hunger“ des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit (BMZ) engagieren. Gemeinsam mit lokalen Akteuren und Partnern werden im Rahmen des Projekts die Ernährungssicherheit und die Landrechte von Frauen gestärkt. Bevor Teile des Projekts in die zweite Phase starten, gaben die KAS Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter einen Einblick in bereits erzielte Projekterfolge und machten auf aktuelle Herausforderungen aufmerksam.
