The work of this first face-to-face meeting of 2022 will focus on "Political practices in West Africa: political, economic governance and stability in West Africa". The aim is to exchange views on this theme by taking stock of the state of democracy in the sub-region, with proposals for improvement. The meeting will be enhanced by the presence of a minister attached to the presidency of the Republic of Senegal and some invited experts from outside the STT.

The group will also discuss its charter and current policy papers.

The STT is currently chaired by West Africa Think Tank (WATHI), an organization based in Senegal. The Centre for Economic and Social Policy Analysis (CAPES) of Burkina Faso will not be able to participate in the meeting, as it is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the same time. In addition to KAS Abidjan, WATHI, CAPES, STT also has as members IREG and Social Watch (Benin), CROP and CADERDT (Togo), IS, CRPA and CIRES (Côte d'Ivoire), SVI and IPED (Guinea), Chatham House (UK).
