Wars are often remembered through military developments, political decisions, and breaking news. Yet their most enduring consequences are experienced far from the frontlines. They unfold in homes, hospitals, public institutions, workplaces, and cultural spaces. They affect not only those caught in direct violence but everyone whose life is altered by conflict.
With this in mind, PolyBlog and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) – Lebanon Office, partnered to produce Lebanese in Times of War, a seven-episode documentary series that captures the human dimension of war through the voices of individuals and institutions from different sectors of Lebanese society.
The series brings together voices from different sectors of society, each offering a distinct perspective on how the conflict influenced their work, daily lives, and communities. From healthcare professionals and humanitarian workers to field reporter and ordinary citizens.
Together, these stories reveal that war is not confined to battlefields. It disrupts essential services, strains public institutions, impacts mental health, challenges cultural life, reshapes careers, and transforms everyday realities. Each testimony offers a different lens through which to understand the broader consequences of conflict.
The project goes beyond documenting personal testimonies. It seeks to highlight a simple but often overlooked reality: war spares no one. Behind every institution is a community of people adapting, enduring, and responding. By bringing these voices together, Lebanese in Times of War contributes to a more complete understanding of the human impact of war and ensures that these experiences remain part of Lebanon's historical record.
The cooperation resulted in the production and dissemination of the following seven documentary-style episodes:
