Détails

The Managing Conflict in Today's Newsroom Training course takes place on the Aga Khan University's Nairobi campus in Kenya from December 1st to 4th. Participants are newsroom managers from across Sub-Saharan Africa who have come together to learn how to fulfil their challenging role.

The newsroom environment is not devoid of conflict. The leader must navigate inconsistencies, contradictions and competing interests in a way that does not impact the quality of journalism negatively. They must provide a culture in which conflict is resolved positively, and amicable settlements are reached.

Since 2022, KAS Media Africa and the Aga Khan University’s Graduate School of Media and Communication (AKU-GSMC) have collaborated to deliver this specialised training programme every year. The workshop covers key concepts in conflict resolution that are relevant to the roles of emerging newsroom managers and leaders.
