The Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the NGO EcoVisio, is pleased to announce the launch of the Climate Platform in the Republic of Moldova, an initiative aimed at bringing together stakeholders—government institutions, NGOs, international organizations, the private sector, academia, and climate activists—to address the urgent challenges of climate change and adaptation. The platform seeks to stimulate collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, and propose sustainable solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change in the region.

The film caravan of the "Promoters of Democracy: Education through Film" project continues to inspire and empower the youth of Moldova throughout the 2025-2026 school year. In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) is proud to announce that the short film "Stația Schimbării" (The Station of Change) has been included in the recommended resources for both formal and non-formal learning activities within the thematic decades. The Division of Europe. The Consequences of the Ribbentrop–Molotov Pact (Hitler–Stalin).

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Office in the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst and the National Association of Young Historians of Moldova, organized throughout 2025 a series of exhibitions on the theme “The Division of Europe. The Consequences of the Ribbentrop–Molotov Pact (Hitler–Stalin).” The authors of this travelling exhibition, created to mark 85 years since the signing of the Ribbentrop–Molotov Pact (Hitler–Stalin), are the Museum Berlin-Karlshorst and the Chair of Eastern European History at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

The European path of the Republic of Moldova is today a strategic objective that shapes the country’s development direction and the pace of its internal reforms. In this complex process, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Moldova remains a committed and consistent partner, providing expertise, institutional support, and platforms for dialogue that strengthen society’s commitment to European values. Through initiatives aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, encouraging civic engagement, and promoting dialogue with European partners, KAS Moldova contributes to reinforcing the foundations necessary for Moldova’s progress on its European path and to improving public understanding of the European Union accession process. These initiatives have been developed both in partnership with civil society organizations and in cooperation with the Bureau for European Integration.

The Second International Moldova Forum (IFM) 2025: Academic Exchange, Cultural Reflection and Historical-Political Contextualization

Between 11–13 November 2025, for the second consecutive year, the International Moldova Forum (IFM) took place in Chișinău under the theme “The Year 1944 and Its Consequences – Local Perspectives.” The event was organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) Office in the Republic of Moldova and the Institute for German Culture and History of Southeastern Europe (IKGS) at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Culture and History of Germans in Eastern Europe (BKGE) in Oldenburg, the State University of Moldova, and the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University.

“Shaping Democracy Together!”

From June 18–20, 2025, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Office in the Republic of Moldova, organized an introductory seminar for its Sur-Place scholarship holders under the title “Understanding Democracy – Political Parties and Ideologies, Christian Democratic Values, and the Mission of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.” The aim of the seminar was to contribute to the civic and political education of young leaders, in line with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s mission to promote democratic values.

KAS Sur-Place Scholarship Holders in Dialogue on European Identity

Democracy Needs Participation

The regional seminar "European Identity" brought together KAS Sur-Place scholarship holders from 11 countries to explore shared values, reflect on what it means to be European, and discuss the challenges of European integration. Through lectures, workshops, and dialogue, participants examined the future of Europe and the role of youth in shaping a united and democratic continent.
