The Model of the Social Market Economy as an Opportunity for Tanzania

On the 30th and 31st of August 2019, the Civic Education Teachers’ Association (CETA) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organise a joint symposium in Kigoma on the topic of “Social Market Economy as a Gateway to Entrepreneurship”. Students ― from higher learning institutions and universities including those from secondary schools in Kigoma- will attend the event.

Panel Discussion on Opportunities for young Women in Tanzania

KAS invited three successful women to speak in a panel discussion to the girls from Bethsaida Girls Secondary School. The three panelists working in different professions will talk about their experiences and the obstacles they had to overcome in their professional lives.

On the 24th of August the Civic Education Teachers’ Association (CETA) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly invite to a teachers’ symposium on Tanzania Economic Order and Social Market Economy. The symposium aims to introduce teachers to the model of the social market economy.

Peace and Justice Youth Workshop

On 31th of July the Youth of United Nations Association of Tanzania (YUNA) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly organise a workshop for 20 youth from Germany and Tanzania. The young students will learn about both YUNA's and KAS's work and embark into discussions about how to strengthen peace and justice. Meanwhile they will get to know each other and their counties' perspectives and contribute in that way to a better intercultural understanding.

More than 600 students - from higher learning institutions and universities including those from secondary schools in Mbeya - attended the event.

Opportunities for young Women in Tanzania

On the 26th August 2019, the Bethsaida Girls Secondary School and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organised a joint panel discussion in Dar es Salaam. The discussion was about the opportunities for young women in Tanzania. Three successful young women from different professions were invited as panelists, to speak to the Secondary School for orphan girls about their experiences and obstacles they had to overcome in their professional lives. 119 students participated in the discussion.

Muslim Women’s Rights According to the Qur'an

Workshop with ZAFELA on Unguja
On Tuesday, 31st of July 2018, the Zanzibar Female Lawyers Association (ZAFELA) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly convened a workshop on “Muslim Women’s Rights According to the Qur’an” on Unguja, the main island of Zanzibar. Women’s rights from an Islamic perspective were discussed by reviewing the book “Kitabu Cha Haki Za Mwanamke wa Kiislamu kwa Mujibu wa Qur’an” (Muslim Women’s Rights Accordings to the Qur’an) published by KAS in 2007.

Islamic Economic System vis-a-vis Social Market Economy

Book Review
On Monday, 23rd of July 2018, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the Tanzania Quran Teachers Organization (JUWAQUTA) jointly convened a discussion on the Islamic Economic System vis-à-vis Social Market Economy. The aim was to discuss the second version of the Islamic book which gives insights into the economic system according to the Islamic teachings. Participants also discussed about the Social Market Economy by using the example of Germany. Leaders of different Islamic organizations and institutions as well as experts in Islamic economy were part of the event in Dar es Salaam.
