Monitoring the Berlin Process - Auslandsbüro Albanien
Veranstaltungsberichte
The authors analyze the contribution of Berlin process in the post-Brexit Europe, the role of Western Balkans 6 civil society, business connectivity through European value chains and the vision of the Italian presidency for the upcoming Trieste Summit of July 2017. The study also includes an analysis of other similar connectivity and territorial cohesion initiatives such as EU Territorial Macro Regions and China-backed "16+1 Initiative".
This publication aims to contribute to the debate on the form and dynamics of the European Integration process and its implications in the Western Balkans. The authors argue that the Berlin process may currently provide the necessary push for the continuation of the engaged economic reforms in the WB6, and reinvigorate the waning pull factors for the firm anchoring of the Western Balkans countries into the European Union.
