The World HandCOV’d: Russia - Strategic dilemmas facing Russia in the post-corona world
The pandemic disruption is not likely to change our world altogether, but it will clearly have profound geopolitical implications, including for international security. In order to understand those possible implications, the Minsk Dialogue Council on International Relations and KAS Belarus are continuing a series of virtual panels that will zoom in on strategic dilemmas facing key pillars of international security in the post-corona world.

Weekly online discussions with Country Office Directors of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung
Fear, uncertainty, changes, disruption… These are the best words to describe today’s picture of the world. The Coronavirus has not left any country untouched and has already affected the lives of millions of people. Lockdown or open borders, quarantine or free movement, #stayathome or #donotpanic, indifference or calmness, anxiety or discretion, exaggeration or cautiousness? What is currently happening around the world? What strategies are the national governments adhering to? What is the public attitude towards the present situation? In this series of online discussions, we will explore these questions with the country office directors of KAS as well as discuss the pandemic’s future implications on the economic, political and social life in their countries.

Eine Buchpräsentation und Podiumsdiskussion zur Geschichte und Zukunft der bilateralen Beziehungen
Über 100 Jahre liegen zurück seit der Ausrufung der sogenannten "Belarussischen Volksrepublik". Im Zuge des Zusammenbruchs der Imperien in Mittel- und Osteuropa während des Ersten Weltkriegs strebte auch Belarus nach staatlicher Eigenständigkeit. Doch bis heute ist in Deutschland das Wissen über diese komplexen geopolitischen Entwicklungen in Europas Osten während dieser "zukunftsträchtigen Zeit" eher spärlich. Das Buch „Die Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Belarus 1916 bis 1925“, welches erstmalig Archivmaterial des Auswärtigen Amtes zu diesem Thema auswertet, wirft nun ein Schlaglicht auf dieses Kapitel der Geschichte.

Internationalen Kongresses der Belarus-Studien richten wir eine Präsentation der zu erscheinenden Publiketion über die Geschichte der diplomatischen Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Belarus aus. Die Präsentation wird am 28. September vom 17:00 bis 18:30 Uhr an der Europäischen Humanistischen Universität in Vilnius statt finden.

Über 90 Politikwissenschaftler und Experten, agierende und ehemalige Diplomaten, Vertreter der Zivilgesellschaft und Studenten versammelten sich zu der vom Auslandsbüro Belarus der Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Botschaft der Republik Österreich in Belarus und der Minsk Dialogue Track-II Initiative am 28. März 2019 in Minsk organisierten Konferenz.
