The seminar will explore four dimensions of development: (1) models of development, focusing on the modernization, human capital, dependency, welfare and sustainable development models; (2) governance-related preconditions of development (focusing on policies, parties, institutions and governance), economic development aspects of rule of law and market-oriented education; (3) priority sectors for Kosovo’s economic development, focusing on primary, secondary and tertiary economic sectors, but also on crosscutting aspects of development; and (4) wider global issues related to the capitalist market economy and challenges facing it around the world in the current wave of global crisis, also focusing on how does it manifest in Kosovo’s underdeveloped economy, as well as on the ways it affects the Kosovan society, in general, in terms of socio-economic and political development.
