The handbook gives an overview about the Presidential Elections 2019 as well as about the history of the Presidential Elections in the country, the electoral system and information about the candidates.

The presidential candidate of VMRO-DPMNE Ms. Gordana Siljanovska visited the KAS office and met with the representative of the Foundation Mr. Johannes D. Rey. They discussed about the current political challenges in the country, the reform processes and the upcoming presidential elections.

Wer hätte das gedacht? Ehemals stand er für „Ochi“ – griechisch für Nein; heute hat er ein „Nai“ – Ja herbeigeführt: Was immer später über Alexis Tsipras geschrieben wird, sein Abkommen mit Skopje ist historisch bedeutsam und ein positives Zeichen für Europa.

Jeder zweite Mazedonier glaubt nicht an Unabhängigkeit der Medien

In Mazedonien herrscht nur wenig Vertrauen in die Arbeit der Medien: Jeder zweite Mazedonier ist der Meinung, die Journalisten in seinem Land können nicht unabhängig berichten. Zudem fühlt sich nur ein Drittel der Bevölkerung gut über aktuelle politische Themen informiert. Generell beziehen die Mazedonier ihre Informationen über Politik überwiegend durch das Fernsehen. Außerdem gibt es ein relativ hohes Vertrauen in die EU und NATO. So lauten die Hauptergebnisse einer repräsentativen Umfrage im Auftrag des Medienprogramms Südosteuropa der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

II MACEDONIAN GERMAN FORUM

Macedonia and Germany have close and deep cooperation and share excellent business relations, which is a stable foundation for the future it was concluded by the participants on the II Macedonian German Forum "Building Bridges-Politics and Economy".The forum was organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Institute for society research MK-91, marking the 25th anniversary of bilateral relations between the countries.
