According to Dr. Stefan Kaufmann, member of the German Bundestag, the Doi Moi (renewal) policy brought dynamic economic change as well as development and laid the basis for the fruitful cooperation between Germany and Vietnam. There seems to be, however, a deadlock in further necessary political reforms, Dr. Kaufman said at the conference on 30 years of Doi Moi, coorganised by KAS and the University of Social Sciences and Humanity.
