Taking action against climate change is one of the key challenges of our time, which is why it was given special attention in the G20 agenda. This also extends to the economic and fiscal area as corresponding investments by the private sector constitute a prerequisite for the fulfillment of the Paris climate protection goals. KAS latest climate report for 2017 addresses this question and contains an article by an Australian expert. Dr. Luke Kemp is a lecturer in climate and environmental policy at both the Fenner School of Environment and Society and Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University

Here is a short summary of Dr. Kemp's article:

"Private climate finance is a growing part of Australia’s climate action landscape. In 2015, at the Paris Climate Summit the Australian government announced a climate finance pledge of AUD$1 billion (US$760 million) over five years. But, due to the absence of clear definitions and central oversight, a patchwork of initiatives has evolved in Australia. The result is a growing but fragmented private climate sector."
