EU Project: “Strengthening of Independent Belarusian Social, Political and Economic Research”

From November 2024 the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) started to lead the EU-funded initiative supporting the Belarusian research sector in the social, political, and economic fields. This project is realized by five Belarusian Think tanks and responds to the difficult circumstances the sector faces following the 2020 crackdown and the ongoing political crisis in Belarus.

Project Objectives

  • Support of the research activities and institutional development of Belarusian think tanks in exile, helping them to preserve and strengthen their capacities;
  • Promotion of the stronger synergies among Belarusian think tanks in exile by fostering closer coordination and cooperation among themselves and with international, primarily European, peers, thereby reinforcing the sector;
  • Presentation of the research findings and promotion of the independent analysis of social, political, and economic trends by organizing targeted events and consultations in both online and offline formats, including the stimulating evidence-based policy dialogue with Belarusian democratic forces and international partners.
