The European Union is Belarus' second main trade partner with almost a one third share in the country's overall trade. Therefore, economic collaboration between Belarus and EU members states plays an important role in developing and deepening EU-Belarus relations. On the other side, Belarus is member of the Eurasian Economic Union comprising the current most important trading partners for the country.

As well as in the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union knowledge, understanding, and utilization of instruments of public-private relations dialogue is essential for helping Belarus to improve its economic relations.

In both regions there is a tendency to formalize public-private contacts: Whilst in Russia and in Ukraine new business fora take place to structurize the state-business dialogue, the European Parliament introduced new regulations for lobbyists, and Germany established a structured IT summit and a yearly health summit.

The conference offers in this regard:

• To provide knowledge about the recent developments in public private relations in the EU and EEU area in order to help Belarusian state officials and companies to understand and use those developments;

• To deliver insights in successful management of public-private dialogue from as well a state side of view as from entrepreneurs, including some public affairs and corporate communications cases;

• To work out ideas on how to use new instruments of the public-private dialogue for Belarus;
• To work out inputs for enhancing the public-private dialogue in Belarus.

• To enable networking between state officials, company representatives, and members of the civil society in this field of action.
