A total of 335 participants took part in the three workshops in Wenchi (21st Dec.), Techiman (22nd Dec.) and Nkoranza (29th Dec.) comprising community leaders, officials from the District Assembly, market queens, traders and farmers and representatives from hairdressers and dressmakers associations as well as students.
All in all, three presentations were given, concerning the topics "Social Market Economy in Ghanaian Context", "Environmental Sustainability - The Role of Traders" and "Environmental Sustainability - The Role of the Community". Each of these were presented by an experienced Ghanaian expert.
After the three presentations, there was time for an open audience discussion on the topics and a group workshop leading into four group presentations on environmental topics.
The organizers of the program were highly impressed by the attendance and moreover the level of participation. The lessons and suggestions that emerged should be put into practice to motivate others to follow.
