Greek and international experts who focus their research on economic institutions, economic performance and efficiency as well as questions of growth came together at the end of November in Volos in order to discuss the connections between democracy and economic development. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Greece supported the conference and invited Professor Dr. Thomas Apolte, Professor for Political Economy in the University of Münster, who participated in the session on Social Market Economy of the conference. Professor Apolte discussed his research on the role that Social Market Economy plays for the establishment of a democracy, utilizing examples of European countries that resumed this model as their guideline for growth and prosperity.
