In line with India's Act East policy and an increasing significance of the Indo-Pacific, the “Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation” (BIMSTEC) is gaining importance for India`s political and strategic interests in the South and South-East-Asian region.  However, experience has shown that much of BIMSTEC's promises remained confined to paper. Against this backdrop, ORF and the  Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung are organizing a two-day conference that will analyze current challenges and potential areas of wider collaboration for the regional organization by bringing together academics, thinkers, policy makers, journalists, and other important stakeholders from BIMSTEC countries as well as potential partners. The event will be held between 27th- 28th November in Kolkata.
