PHDCCI Education Summit 2020

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) together with the India office of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organised an Education Summit on 27th February 2020 in New Delhi. The event witnessed participation from people in various fields ranging from students to university professors to researchers and policy-makers. The idea was to portray the developments in the education sector which not only lay the foundation but also act as catalyst in the working of the industry as well as the government.

Roundtable-discussion on “Business meets Politics”

As part of Christian Hirte's (Member of the German parliament) visit to India, a Roundtable on “Business meets Politics” took place on Saturday, February 29th. The event was organized in cooperation with the FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) and took place in the Federation House in New Delhi.

Ten Years of Political and Economic Transformation in West Asia: Challenges, Lessons and Future Trends

The Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses organised the 4th West Asia Conference on the theme “Ten Years of Political and Economic Transformation in West Asia: Challenges, Lessons and Future Trends” on February 26-27, 2020.

Roundtable on “Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz” (German Skilled Immigration Act)

With the "Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz" (German Skilled Immigration Act) scheduled to come into effect on 1st March 2020, the India Office of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung together with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce organised a Roundtable on this important topic on 29th February 2020 - a day before the implementation of this law. The opportunities and challenges of this law were highlighted in the discourse. German MP Mr. Christian Hirte gave his insights from the political perspective. The discussion had inputs from the German Embassy, Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan and representatives from the other relevant sectors. Moreover, Mr. Nalin Kohli (Spokesperson, BJP) presented his perception. It was also deliberated that a good command over the German language is a prerequisite for working in Germany.

Conference on Climate Change and Security

Implications of ‘Securitization’ for International and National Realms

Germany sees climate change as a security problem and wants to make a decisive contribution to improve the climate situation in the medium and long term through its multilateral institutions. Therefore, in the light of this, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) along with the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organised a resource dialogue on Climate Change and Security from 20th-22th February 2020 in Kumarakom which aimed to bring together a diverse set of experts drawn from the domains of security, climate change and development. The dialogue included deliberations on the following issues: - Scientific basis for climate change and security - Implications of climate change on defence establishments - Implications of climate change on internal security - Politics of securitization of climate change

International Relations Model United Nations 2020

The Department of International Studies and History, Christ (Deemed to be) University, Bengaluru, together with the India Office of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organised IR MUN 2020 - International Relations Model United Nations, a two-day national event that was held at Christ University, Bengaluru on the 10th and 11th of February 2020.
