The trilateral expert conference on security and cooperation in Afghanistan took place from 11. – 14 March 2014 in Cadanabbia, Italy. The conference aimed at analyzing the current situation and identification of possible topics for regional dialogue devoted to the attraction of politicians’ attention to this important sphere of security politics.

Political dialogue programme for young Indian and German Parliamentarians

A delegation of German Parliamentarians visited New Delhi from 09. - 13. December 2013 in the course of a political dialogue programme for young Indian and German Parliamentarians, initiated by the KAS.

Fifth editors’ conclave concludes

The fifth Editors’ Conclave on “Elections and the Media”, organised by the CR Irani Foundation in association with KAS took place in Kolkata from 19.–21. November. Prof Dr Peter Schiwy, former head of German Radio, in his address said that the German Electoral system could be understood by the people’s interest in Parliament as a mirror that reflected manifold political disturbances.

German-Indian Dialogue on the Rule of Law

During November, KAS India together with the president of the Federal Finance Court and former Sitting Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, Prof. Dr. Rudolf Mellinghoff, initiated a dialogue program in New Delhi. The aim of the talks with representatives from Indian judiciary and legal affairs was to identify topics of shared interest and to foster a close bi-lateral exchange between the top level Judiciary of both India and Germany.
