During his visit to India, Prof. Dr. Friedbert Pflüger, former State of Secretary and Director of the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS), Department of War Studies, King's College London, talked about „Megatrends in Global Energy Policy after Fukushima“ at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi on 02.11.2011. The seminar was conducted by the KAS in cooperation with the Centre for European Studies, JNU.

‘Inflation Analysis for India’

KAS-ICRIER Workshop

The workshop on ‘Inflation Analysis for India’ was organized by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) on 3rd October 2011 and was chaired by Dr. Surjit Bhalla, Chairman, Oxus Investments and Mr. B. Karan Singh, Consultant; ICRIER presented the paper titled, “Issues with Inflation Modeling in India”. The workshop was organized to view the methodology of the paper and the possibility of making policy recommendations for the same.

On September 16th 2011 the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in New Delhi organized a workshop analysing the higher-consuming class in India’s emerging economy on the basis of a study paper on “The Middle Class in Emerging Economies”.

G20 KAS/ICRIER Conference

On the 13th and the 14th of September 2011, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the leading economic policy think tank the Council of Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the Chatham House und the ADBInstitute conducted a G20-conference on the topic of “Global Cooperation for Sustainable Growth and Development”. More than 190 international and national experts from the field of politics, economics and science followed the invitation and took part in this two-day conference in New Delhi.

Die KAS in Indien führt in diesem Zusammenhang seit Jahren in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem renommierten energiepolitischen Partner-Think-Tank TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) regelmäßig einen internationalen Energiedialog in Indien durch, der sich zu einem institutionalisierten Dialogforum zu diesen Schwerpunktthemen entwickelt hat.
