Conference on "Changing Asia 2017"

"Perspectives on Regional and Global Cooperation"

From September 14th till 18th, the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) together with the India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organised a conference on “Changing Asia 2017: Perspectives on Regional and Global Cooperation”. The conference brought together about 30 scholars and experts from China, Germany, India, New Zealand, Sweden, the UK and the United States, who discussed the implications of a changing Asia and the related perspectives on regional and global cooperation.

The 34th Joint Staff Development Programme, organised by PHDCCI and India office of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) from 08.-11. September 2017 and titled “NGOs: Staying Ahead and Staying Relevant” was inaugurated by Mr. Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa and the former Union Defence Minister with the traditional ‘lighting of the lamp’ together with Mr. Peter Rimmele, the new Resident Representative to India of the KAS and Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, the President of the PHDCCI.

National Workshop on “Youth: Towards Sustainable Development Goals”

With a view to making the youth aware of the SDGs and the role they can play in ensuring that the SDGs are met, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, in partnership with Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, organized a National Workshop on “Youth: Towards Sustainable Development Goals” at Kolkata, West Bengal on 16-17 August 2017.
