Building Democracy: The Role of Business and Politics

As part of his visit to India, Christian Hirte, Member of the German Parliament, will take part in a roundtable discussion on the topic of Emigration of Skilled Labour to Germany. The event on February 29th is organized by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and the KAS India Office. Representatives of German companies, the German embassy and the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) are expected.

This comprehensive report was the result of a joint study conducted by the Kubernein Initiative and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, India Office. The report launch event took place on 27th October 2023 and was graced by the presence of Ambassador Lakshmi Puri, former Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Deputy Executive Director of UN Women. Ambassador Lakshmi Puri played a pivotal role in the launch event by delivering the keynote address. Her wealth of experience and insights provided valuable context and perspectives on the report's findings. The report itself delved into the intricacies of Indian foreign policy, exploring avenues for greater inclusivity and diversity in its formulation and execution.
