We cordially invite you to join us on 19th October 2022 (08:30-11:30) at the Royal Academy of Cambodia. The event serves as a platform to have an intellectual exchange on a diverse range of issues in the realm of the region's growing security dilemma and its implications thereof. In this Forum, you will be able to hear in-depth insights on key security challenges the world is facing, including that of the Russia's war in Ukraine, non-traditional security threats, as well as the roles of middle and small powers in international affairs. We take this opporunity also to present to hard copies of "Diplomatic Briefing" volume 05, a flagship publication on trending IR-topics by Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace and KAS Cambodia.
About our distinguished speakers:
Mr. David Gregosz studied Economics and Political Science at Philipps University in Marburg. Since 2017, he is the Director of the office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Warsaw, Poland. From 2017-2020, he was in charge of the global International Economic Policy work of KAS. Before that, from October 2013-2017, Mr. Gregosz headed the office of KAS in Santiago, Chile.
Ms. Pich Charadine holds a Master of Arts with Merit in International Politics from Keele University in Staffordshire, UK. Since 2017, she is Deputy Executive Director of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP) in charge of Research, Training and Publication and concurrently serving as the Coordinator of the Global Center for Mekong Studies (GCMS-Cambodia Center, an official Track II think tank network of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation). She was nominated to the 2019 US Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on ASEAN-Nations of the South China Sea – Sovereignty and Rules-based Order. She was also the Visiting Fellow at the China Institute for International Studies (CIIS) in 2018 and Visiting Scholar at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) in 2019.
Dr. Digby Wren holds a PhD in Philosophy and in International Relations and Affairs from Deakin University in Geelong, Australia. He is currently Senior Special Advisor to IRICat the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), and a Visiting Research Scholar at Deakin University. Further, he is Director of the Mekon Research Project (The Long Mekong) and Advisory Board member of the Pakistan Institute of International Relations and Media. Dr. Wren is also an Advisory Board member of the Cambodian Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Journal. His current research activities include (among others) Lancang/Mekong Riparian Relations, Southeast Asian and East Asian Relations, China-US Relations, Geo-economics and Geo-politics, Economic Development and Social Engagement, and International Education Partnerships.
This session will be moderated by Mr. Lim Chhay, program manager for foreign affairs, KAS Cambodia.
