The relation between media and media law was at the focus of the event.

The seminar offered an opportunity for the participating journalists from Asia to exchange experiences with colleagues from other countries. In several Asian countries journalists face political hindrances which are camouflaged behind allegations that they have violated against the law. This might be done in reference to media laws as much as to criminal law. These issues were analyzed and recommendations were given how to solve such problems. The conference also provided valuable contributions from lawyers about recurrent legal issues in the exercise of the journalistic profession.
