Project Overview
As Kenya approaches the 2027 General Elections, this assignment aims to move beyond anecdotal impressions to generate evidence-based data on the political and economic realities shaping youth participation. The study will complement ongoing qualitative research (Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews) by providing statistically grounded, nationally representative findings on youth aged 18–35.
Key Objectives
-
Generate reliable quantitative data on the priorities, perceptions, and expectations of Kenyan youth regarding the political and economic landscape.
-
Analyze factors driving youth political apathy, disenfranchisement, and the impact of the high cost of political participation.
-
Examine the role of digital platforms in youth political mobilization.
-
Provide actionable, data-driven recommendations to inform future youth-centered political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Scope of Work
The selected firm will be responsible for survey design, developing a hybrid sampling strategy (utilizing social media and online panels), digital data collection, and integrated data analysis. The approach must be methodologically sound, gender-sensitive, and leverage innovative digital tools to ensure wide geographic coverage.
