Seminar

Community Development in Sabah

From needs-based to asset-based approach

A seminar organised by Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) and supported by KAS to introduce the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach for community development.

Details

As an alternative to the needs-based approach, Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) is increasingly recognised as an effective approach in community development. ABCD shifts the focus of community development from “problem solving’ to “asset building”. It is community-driven development rather than development driven by external organisations.
