The meeting was organised in cooperation with the Moldovan NGO "Independent Journalism Center" (IJC). The director of IJC, Nadine Gogu, explained the media situation and the education of young journalists in Moldova. The main topic of the workshop was the preparation of a book about the motivation of students from South East Europe to study journalism. The publication will be based on the results of an international survey on the quality of journalism education, which was conducted among students in Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia and Romania.

Professor Barbara Thomass (Ruhr University Bochum) was a guest at the workshop and gave recommendations for the publication of the study. She already took part in the first meeting of the KAS expert group in 2013.

The planned publication is supposed to build a basis for discussion with politicians and media managers on a modern journalism education and its stronger contribution to the development of democratic societies in South East Europe.
