SEECOM: Press officers extend their Forum into new Association - Media Programme Southeast Europe

According to the statute, the Association will work to advance professional development and stimulate partnerships with non-governmental actors, first and foremost media and civil society organizations. It is based on the fundamental principles of the "Budva Declaration" for transparency, openness and citizens’ involvement. The Association aims at promoting the development of democracy by professional political communication in South East Europe. Frank Priess, Deputy Head of European and International Cooperation of KAS, described the SEECOM Association as "a network of values."
The organizers of the initiative are KAS Media Programme South East Europe, the Montenegrin government, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro, the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica.
The SEECOM Association's establishment was attended by 80 government communicators from 20 countries.
