Standards have received little attention outside of professional forums so far. However, the rapid developments in the field of new technologies are leading to the establishment of new, digital standards that are also increasingly of geopolitical importance. In this context, actors such as China have understood that the standards of tomorrow are already being negotiated and implemented today. The study, commissioned by the Multilateral Dialogue Geneva of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and researched together with the Diplo Foundation, sheds light on China's role in the Geneva standardisation organisations. The research looks in particular at China's growing influence in bodies such as the ISO, IETF and ITU.

The PDF-file of the study is available for download.
