Details

Energy security is one of the most important future challenges for Namibia and is closely linked to issues like economic development, poverty reduction and a stable democracy. In this context, several experts will discuss the socio-economic dimensions of climate change and renewable energies and explore the positive effects and development potentials offered by an improved energy security and the intensified use of renewable energies in Namibia.

The workshop will also serve to launch the updated 2nd edition of our publication “Perspectives on Energy Security and Renewable Energies in Sub-Saharan Africa” that deals with the mounting role of energy independence in politics and sub-Saharan Africa’s immense potential of renewable energy resources.

The number of participants is limited; please register until the 04.04.2016 via phone (+264 61 225-568) or email (Dennis.Zaire@kas.de).
