Interreligious Classroom

Learn from each other to live with each other

On May 17th, the project "Interreligious Classroom" took place. The event was organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in close cooperation with the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "St. Clement of Ohrid” and the Faculty of Islamic Sciences from Skopje. About thirty participants, including theology students, representatives of religious communities, experts in the field of religion, and other interested individuals, took part in the event aiming to foster meaningful exchanges of ideas and experiences.

At the opening welcoming addresses was given by Robert Janev, Programme Manager of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Prof. Dr. Gjoko Gjorgjevski, Dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “St. Clement of Ohrid”. Later followed a short overview on the topic given by the two professors Prof. Dr. Darko Anev, Faculty of Orthodox Theology “St. Clement of Ohrid” and Prof. Dr. Hasan Džilo, Faculty of Islamic Sciences.

Then the group continued with a study visit to the Church"St. Clement of Ohrid". Prof. Dr. Darko Anev gave an introduction to the participants about Christianity, its symbols, and their meanings. Following that, the study visit proceeded to the Mustafa Pasha Mosque, where Prof. Dr. Hasan Džilo delivered a short lecture about the tradition and symbols in Islam.

During the event, the students had the opportunity to pose questions and engage in dialogue. This facilitated exchange served to enhance intercommunication among participants of different religious affiliation.
