The objective of the Nazaha Project is first to combat corruption and bribery among Palestinian NGOs, and secondly to allow them to function as a watchdog. In turn, this should result in a more transparent and more accountable public sector in the Palestinian Autonomous Areas.
Compliance of particular financial and administrative policies is crucial to sustain transparency within the NGOs. The study contains information about practises which help NGOs to master the growing challenges and duties towards the population, taking the two guidelines transparency and accountability in consideration. Besides, it provides an amount of guidelines regarding procedures and avenues of approach which applies to the work within NGOs.
The results of the study, which is now available as a booklet, also cover important issues like accounting, controlling and financial management, as well as guidelines for financial reports.
