This past year brought significant political developments upon the Middle East and Northern Africa. The Arab uprising, nowadays spoken of as the Arab Spring, did not only put an end to decades of authoritarian rule but also to civil passivity in the face of social shortcomings. As Tunisia and Egypt are now heading into a new political era, it is yet to be seen how these political developments will affect the Palestinian Territories and Israel.

Among others, speakers will include Prof. Ellie Podeh, head of the Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Department at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and Mustafa Abu Sway, Professor for Islamic Studies at Al Quds University.
